Discover your Irish ancestors and learn about genealogy with Wild Atlantic Family Research
Wild Atlantic Family Research was established in 2017 by Clare Doyle to provide assistance to those who want to learn more about their ancestors. Whether you plan to visit Ireland or simply want to know more about your family's past, Clare is available to research your family history.
Clare has worked in genealogy and local history since 1997. Born in Co. Monaghan, she now lives just outside Tuam, Co. Galway, in the same parish where her great-great-grandparents lived and where her grandmother still lives aged 105. Her interest in genealogy and local history led her to pursue a career in archives and she qualified as an Archivist from University College Dublin in 2000.
In September 2016 Clare completed an MA in Local History at the University of Limerick, her thesis concentrating on the relationship between teachers in schools in the parish of Loughrea and the Board of Education in Dublin. In early 2017 Clare established Wild Atlantic Family Research, her experience as an archivist and interest in local history providing a resource for those who would like to learn about their Irish ancestors.
Clare is a member of the Archives and Records Association (ARA) since 2000 and was admitted as a member of Accredited Genealogists Ireland (AGI) in 2018 and is the present Honorary Secretary of the organisation.
